B.U.I.L.D. Up Christian School Inc. is a hub where gifts and talents are discovered and natural unlimited learning potentials are tapped. It provides an opportunity where God-given abilities, imagination and creativity are awakened. It endeavors to raise future generational leaders – who are world changers, history makers and glory dispensers of God. It aspired to continually provide an avenue where every person is respected, cared for and celebrated for their unique interest, different ability and multiple intelligences.
Back in 1990, teacher Arlene desired to start her own school even at age 10. It was a dream that won’t go away but put aside. She pursued a communication degree at Dela Salle University thinking that her dream doesn’t exist anymore but decided to get extra units in education. Until her first job landed her in a teaching career, since then God has been enlarging her heart and passion to making a difference in the lives of her students. She pursued her Masteral Degree at UP-Diliman and started teaching college career. She also finished 2-year Bible school. Her dream started to resurface from time to time when she got married and especially when gave birth to her son.
In 2011, teacher Arlene decided to homeschool her son and would want to spend more time with him. Friends learned about it and sent their children to be under her care. She started a playgroup until it became a playschool.
In 2012, she took a step of faith and made her dream come to pass. By September that year, the center opened with only three (3) playschool students, and one tutee, who were all friend’s children. Until the summer of 2013, nine (9) new playschool students were added. B.U.I.L.D. Multiple Intelligence summer program was launched including Playschool, IRead, singing, and dancing classes as well as tutorials. This was graced with the students’ performances in May at Robinson’s Activity Center.
By June 2013, DepEd has issued BUILD Up Christian School a permit to offer preschool. Alpha batch has sixteen (16) students. In December 2013, the family of BUILD Up goes “Balik-Bukid” at Sta. Elena Fun Farm. It is also the school’s first family day and Christmas party. On March 22, 2014, the school had its 1st Royal Celebration celebrating its very first Kindergarten Graduation at Robinsons Sta. Rosa.
The family grew into twenty-two (22) students in June 2014. In October 2014, BUILD Up partnered with Saddleback Church Nuvali and participated in their Blocktober. The joy of reading is promoted through its first collaboration Adarna Publishing house for its book awareness month. Both students and family, co-love-borated again for Water Wonderland at Kidsgrove Pavilion, Ayala Westgrove. A moving up ceremony and recitals are held at SM Sta Rosa Activity Center with a theme “#UP” last March 2015. Teacher Arlene decided to serve the children and their families better, she studied family life and child development at the University of The Philippines. The school got its depEd recognition for Preschool education.
More families and kids joined the B.U.I.L.D. Up family, in June 2015, the Charlie Batch had 37 students. Fun outbound experience and family day at Sta. Elena Fun Farm. In April 2016, Charlie Pampanga Outreach was held as the teachers volunteered and prepared giveaways to the children of our Aeta Community.
In June 2016, the start of Delta Batch had 39 students, a Back to school celebration with Saddleback Peace Team from the USA was held. As part of the school’s foundation celebration, a Kid’s Camp was help entitled Kingdom Rulers. Last February 2017, Family Day was held at Camp N, Nuvali. A grand school year activity was held at the Monochrome, Nuvali. In the Summer of 2017, the first batch of students was sent to attend Kids Camp in New Life Alabang. Homeschool assistance has started specifically for transient OFW families and migrant families and children with medical conditions. PEPT was arranged for OFW families.
The June 2017, start of Echo Batch had forty-two (42) students and another Back to school celebration with Saddleback Peace Team from the USA came to play with the children and encouraged the parents. Another Kid’s Camp was held entitled “Tomorrowland” in celebration of its founding anniversary. In December 2017, the school’s first Christmas production entitled “A Hope for Christmas” Presentation was held at Max’s Restaurant. In February 2018, families gathered for a fun Color Run in partnership with students from STI. A culmination and recital for the Echo batch entitled “Each Child is a Star” was held at Vista Mall, Sta. Rosa. Summer of 2018, the second batch of students to attend Kids Camp in New Life Alabang and Summer Splash Day.
In October 2018, 1st ever Build Up Seminar for teachers and parents known as “Bata, Bata, Kaya mo yan!” Guest speakers were Prof. Kate Delrosario, UP Professor, and Prof. Joanna Tacorda for DLSU-College of St. Benilde. For the Foxtrot Batch moving up and culmination, the student had their very first original stage play entitled “Be Brave.” Families come first as we come together for “BUILDING STRONGER FAMILIES” at Winner Events Place Sta. Rosa. The school’s first online moving up was broadcasted on the school’s Facebook page.
In 2020, a new modality was offered to make sure education doesn’t stop even during the pandemic. Virtual classes or online distance learning was offered. Students and families from different parts of the country and even OFW families were served.
Today, learning continues as we adapt, adopt and be adept to the new normal of education. More opportunities are expanded making the school’s vision and mission global in the service of Filipino children and their families, all for God’s glory and fame. #parasabata #parasapamilyangpilipino #buildupjourney
